Now that Republican Donald Trump is America’s new President-Elected in charge, his fellow partner, Indiana Governor Mike Pence is the new Vice-President.
We all know or heard at some point during this long electoral campaign that Trump and Pence ideologically oppose each other when it comes to casino legislation, completely!
Trump, being a very wealthy and successful business owner, likes to enjoy himself at casinos and spending it big every now and then. On the other hand, Pence is a more conservative character who is against gambling and even admitted that he had never even bought a lottery ticket in his life!
In fact, Pence even pushed his efforts to block internet gambling in the state of Indiana where currently is legal to gamble online if you are eligible to do so in terms of age., however, you are not allowed to operate an online gambling site within the state. You can read more about USA gambling legislation in our USA Casino Guide. A lot of groups praised Pence for this opposition not to expand or tolerate gambling in general.
It is also illegal for gambling companies from all around the industry to give donations to state officials in Indiana, however, supporting groups endorsing Pence have received more than $2M from the gambling industries from within Indiana, ironic huh?
Well, at least that is according to the International Business Times and MapLight which on their reviews shows that almost $350,000 where paid by gambling companies to Pence’s electoral campaign. That does not include gifts to the RGA (Republican Governors Association) who campaigned for Pence during elections, of which Pence was on its executive committee at that time.
After all of this, Pence decided to allow legislation about benefiting from gambling industry to become law and started to help lottery companies like GTECH to tailor support for the needs of individual customer and solutions to drive the business responsibly. However, a spokesperson for Pence categorically denied these allegations and the signing which expands the gambling industry. What is the truth and future of online gambling in USA?
The truth is that the Election regulators say that donations which are coming from lobbyists are 100% legal because the law does not say anything about them. In fact, all the lobbying groups sad that they did comply with Indiana’s law and what they did was 100% legal.
Having sad all the above, the state of Indiana is now a day’s a massive $2B gambling industry which makes it the 5th biggest gambling state in America.
I just truly hope that various other states start legalising online gambling in America so that American online players will have more choice and freedom of play all around the country.
Maybe The Simpsons can predict the future for gambling in America this time?!
