Well over 2,000 online gambling website operators are to be axed out from providing gambling services to residents in Cyprus.
The NBA (National Betting Authority) has took the initiative to block these illegal operators and imposed a dead line to all these operators to regulate themselves or else they will be blocked out. During last Monday's meeting, which was organised by the Mediterranean House Finance Committee including regulator's representatives, informed all those present in the meeting that the deadline was over and the NBA will adding around 2,500 online gambling operators to its black list who where found to be operating illegally.
These operators where already instructed not to operate without being registered and licensed with the NBA in Cyprus. During the meeting the NBA confirmed that most of the black listed operators have either failed to submit their application on time or insisted to keep offering their service illegally.
Also on yesterday's meeting agenda where the online casino games together with poker games and other betting games and how they are strictly prohibited according to the Cyprus 2012 gambling law.
