One of the biggest name in the online gambling industry, Amaya, has completed successfully the rebranding to The Stars Group together with relocation of their head quarters from Montreal to Toronto. They have also introduced a new logo and a brand new website to mark the start of a new era.
The Stars Group will start their trading adventure using TSG ticker symbol on the GLobal Market and the TSGI ticker on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The newly branded The Stars Group is mostly famous for their parenting of world renowned brands such as PokerStars and BetStars which are owned by The Rational Group, which in turn is owned by the latter.
Many are thinking that this change was done to distance themselves from David Baazov. Mr. Baazov founded the company back in 2000 and is now being investigated by the gambling authorities mainly Québec’s securities regulator. The investigation is in relation to the acquisition of The Rational Group back in 2014 which was worth over $4.5 billion.
A Hong Kong multi billionaire businessman is constantly increasing hi share stake in the company every day. Mr. Hao Tang currently holds a lot more than 15% in Amaya's shares of which he acquired back in March 2017. Mr. Tang acquired 4,000,000 shares which are worth more than c$ 88.9 Million.
