Whoop, whoop! The 2018 FIFA World Cup is upon us and I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed that in order to celebrate the global festival of football, plenty of online casinos are using the occasion to launch their masterpiece promotions. There is an absolute mega-load out there to choose from, whether you are a football fan or not.

One such promotion is the Stars 100 million challenge, which offers players who correctly predict the results of all of the matches in the upcoming World Cup the opportunity to win the life-changing sum of £100 million. Players are gifted one chance each, but further entries can be won by undertaking daily challenges that can be something as simple as playing a particular slot game.
Breaking this down, the challenge is essentially a 64-game accumulator but, should you get it right, there is a potential £100,000,000 up for grabs. Not bad, eh? Plus here’s the thing – it’s a freebie. Try getting that value elsewhere! Now, I have played this promotion at Stars many times, and it’s fair to say that I keep whittling the field down to the same five sides; Brazil, Spain, France, Argentina and, of course, Germany. Chances are you will do, too, should you play. So take a look at the process and see what you think!
We’ll start with FIFA World Cup Group A, comfortably the easiest group, and one that I think we can safely say will not produce the eventual winner. From a group that includes Russia, Egypt, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia, I have eliminated the Saudis and the hosts, Russia. Controversial? Maybe, but Egypt and Uruguay have superior players.
World Cup Group B is much tougher, although it’s still relatively safe to pick the two teams who will make it through to round two. From Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Iran, clearly the two nations of the Iberian Peninsula will make it to knockout.
France, Australia, Peru and Denmark make up Group C. As one of the favourites, France will progress with ease and is likely to be joined by Denmark, wouldn’t you agree? World Cup Group D is trickier to predict, however. True, Argentina should win at a canter, but who to pick out of Nigeria and Croatia, assuming Iceland are eliminated early. I have to side with Croatia, but admit that it is close.
Brazil goes next in a group that also contains Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia. We can safely predict the Samba Boys to progress, but it’s more of a random choice to select the team who will accompany them. I went with Serbia, but this is by no means a sure thing.
World cup Group F features Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea. No prizes at this stage for guessing that the Germans will win, but shall we opt for the Mexicans to join them or Sweden? It’s your call! For the record, I slightly favoured the Swedes.
England and Belgium should surely top a group that otherwise contains Panama and Tunisia, even if England has made a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory many, many times before. Finally, in Group H, Poland, Senegal, Colombia and Japan play each other and I’m opting for the Poles to go through alongside Senegal.
From the teams that “go through”, I was left with all the usual, aforementioned favourites until only Germany remained. But, remember, you can play this up to twenty times, just make sure you tweak your winning picks around the Quarter-Final stage. While it is admittedly a tough promotion, the Stars 100 Million Challenge is fun and free to play. And with a potential prize of £100,000,000 to be won, it’s worth five minutes of anyone’s time.
